BILL FOR BOARD

EXPENSES OF ELECTION. Recently the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board was presented with a bill for £l9 5s 5d by the Feilding Borough Council for the expenses of conducting the poll in connection with the last election, but it was decided to investigate the account. To-day the board received an intimation that the amount represented actual out-of-pocket expenses incurred. Mr P. G. Guy suggested that the amount be paid. “I do not think it should be,” commented Mr J. A. Nash, M.P. “It is an over-charge, and should be referred to the Auditor-General.”

Mr N. Campbell agreed with this, saving it was “a tremendous amount.” The matter was held over for further inquiries.
