CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES.

“Substance” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday. The Golden Text was from Psalm 135: 13, “Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; hut lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal- for where your treasure is there will your heart he also.” (Matt. 6: 19-21.) Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy: “All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being immortality, cause and effect belong to God. These are His attributes, the eternal manifestations of the infinite divine Principle, Love. As God is substance, and man is the Divine image and likeness, man should wish for, and in reality has, only the substance of good, the substance of Spirit, not matter.” (pp. 275, 301.)
