WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. A long and rather narrow trough of low pressure lies off the west coast of New Zealand, with a low pressure centre in the northern portion. The latter has now passed Cape Maria Van Diemen moving eastward. Pressure has been very high to the eastward, but is now falling. Forecast: Strong north-east winds to gales, veering to southerlies within 24 hours. Weather: Squally and unsettled, with rain. Temperatures cooler to-morrow. Seas heavy.
