GAMING CHARGE.
case at stratfoiid! Per Press Association. bept. 4. Dominic Sisarich, recently acquitted in the Supreme Court, New Plymouth, on a charge of bookmaking, was today before Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M., on two charges of keeping a common gaming-house. Detective Meiklejohn said 'that the evidence would be the same as that given in the Supreme Court. Mr Coleman, for accused, said that evidence was given of only one bet. He maintained that such was not sufficient to warrant conviction. The Magistrate dismissed one charge, saying that the evidence was too weak to sustain it. He reserved his decision on the other.
