When reviewing 30,000 Nazis, Herr Hitler revealed that his uniformed army numbered 600,000. They comprised an iron guard reppresenting the disciplined will of the German peoplo. They would see the revolution through to the end. Social democrats were criminals responsible for the misery of 8,000,000 unemployed, he said, and they must now atone tor their deeds or bo driven from their last hiding places until the poison was removed from the uatiotn.
GERMANIC SPIRIT. A PRESERVATION MOVE. BERLIN, Mav 6. Students in this and other cities have begun a round-up of Jewish books and other “un-Gernmn” works, which are to be burned in bonfires in public squares at midnight on May 10. Hmidrews of books aud many pictures regarded contrary to the German spirit already have been seized, including tho medical works of Professor Hirschfeld’s institute, which is well known to doctors throughout the world on account of its possession of an exhaustive library on sex problems. A police comb-out of a so-called Red stronghold at Kiel, including hotels and restaurants, resulted in sixty arrests being made. Tho homes of Communists, Socialists' and Reichbannerites were searched, and quantities of books, leaflets, flags and badges were confiscated.
CATHOLIC PARTY. RETURN TO POLITICS. BERLIN, May 7. Dr. Bruoning, the ex-Chancellor has been elected chairman of tho Catholic party. The party had previously declined to return to politics.
SERIOUS RIOTING
BATTLE AT INNSBRUCK.
BERLIN, May 7. A serious riot occurred at Innsbruck during Saturday morning and afternoon ns tire result of a ban on party uniformed men. Nazis had a two hours’ battle with military police, in which rifle butts were used. There were many minor, casualties. Forty arrests were made. "DEATH OF NATIONALIST. • EX-LEADER’S END. Received Mav 8, 9.35 a.m. BERLIN, May 7. Dr. Ernest Oberfohren, an ex-Na-tionalist leader, was found shot dead at Kiel. , . .., It was apparently a case of suicide.
