ROBBERIES IN SYDNEY.
STRUGGLE BY SAFE-BREAKERS. SYDNEY, May 7. While investigating safe robberies at two suburban railway stations —Bir: rong and Regent’s Park—this morning, two detectives surprised two men breaking a safe at Berala station, in the same locality. When they attempted to arrest the men, one robber drew a revolver and fired two shots harmlessly. A fierce struggle followed, the detectives firing and wounding one man in the thigh. The other escaped, but was arrested 13 THie robbers used a jemmy during the struggle with the detectives, one of whom was injured in the face. The robbers were father and sou.
