Although a rough week-end was experienced with high winds and it was anticipated that ducks would be plentiful on the various lagoons throughout the ciistrict this was not so. The Manawatu River was eight feet above normal and apparently the ducks found their way to low-lying purts that had become filled up by the river or sought places on the river where shooters could not reach them owing to the depth of water. On Saturday Foxton juniors defeated Shannon at Foxton by 22 points to 3. Fire Brigade seniors defeated Otaki by 23 points to 17. Foxton Football Club juniors defeated Athletic by 8 to 3.
