HOPE ABANDONED.
FATE OF MR BERT HINKLER. Received January 27, 10.0 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 26. After consultation with the Air Ministry, the Hinkler Committee has abandoned the plans for a land search of Switzerland, being convinced of the impossibility of finding Sir Hinkler alive It 3S' now proposed to devote the funds to the erection of a memorial in London.
