BREAKING OF AXLE.
Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, Jan. 26. A mixed goods and passenger train, which reaches Taumarunui at 1 p.m. from the north, met with a mishap at midday near Ongarue when an axle of a coal truck broke and the truck jumped the rails. Eight passengers were aboard, but none was injured. They were brought to Taumarunui ia.ter by special train. The line was cleared in two hours.
