STRIKE ON BOURSE.
PARIS, Jan. 25. The Bourse strike against M. Cheron’s Budget balancing taxes was carried out with the utmost good humour. When a couple of score of portly stockbrokers tried to initiate a market, the orders were not registered on the indicator, as the strikers had cut the electric wires. After that the hall became a babel of chatter and laughter, a few stink bombs adding to the confusion.
The Government threatens to prosecute on the ground that any demonstration against the freedom of Parliamentary discussion cannot be allowed.
PARIS, Jan. 26. Satisfied with having brought their grievances to the public notice, the Bourse strikers resumed at noon.
