TERRACE END v. PALMERSTON NORTH. The following rinks have been selected to represent Terrace End against Palmerston North. Three rinks will play at each green. At Palmerston North. —Thomas, Simpson, Gordon, Grant (skip); Stewart, Evans, Wallace, Eckersley (skip); Toogood, Mills, Collier, Johnson (skip). At Terrace End. —Joseph, Knowles, Litchfield, Davidson (skip); Hanley, Bee, Helsby, Duncalf (skip); Andrews, Pearse, Childs, Wood (skip). Colts’ team at Terrace End'to play Palmerston North. —Lock, Morriss, Lockwood, Lightfoot (skip). - TERRACE END TO ORNAMENT. The Terrace End Bowling Club held an. enjoyable rinks tournament last evening when three Palmerston North Club and three home rinks pa rticipated. Four matches were played and a Palmerston North rink, Wilkinson, Schwass, Wilson, W. Child (skip) were successful sustaining no losses. It is intended to continue the series each Thursday night at 6.30 o’clock. TAKARO CUP RETAINED. For the sixteenth occasion the Pahiatua Bowling Club withstood a challenge for the Takaro Cup when they beat a Palmerston Club rink. The challengers were represented by a strong team, but after starting well they found tlie opposition too severe and were defeated by the wide margin 0 f 25 —13. Tho teams were: Wilkinson, Morris, Bayliss, Skoglund (skip) 13. Pahitua: Murphy, Walker, Kershaw and Hodd (skip) 25. The weather was ideal and the green keen. In the early stages Pahiatua were down 3—B but on the next head scored five to draw level and at the 16th head led 19—10, gaining 2 more points on the next head and Palmerston North got one on the eighteenth. Pahiatua scored another pair on the 19th head, but on the 20th Palmerston North brought their total to 13. The final hend°gave Pahiatua the remaining two points. TARANAKI TOURNAMENT. In the Taranaki Bowling Centre’s tournament at New Plymouth the seventh round had been completed on Wednesday when R. Boulton (West End) was the only undefeated skip. Terrace End (O’Shea, skip) lost to West End (Sole) in the fifth round, 15 21. but beat Awakino (Bartlett), 21 lin the next match.. The rink sustained a further-defeat in the seventh round, however, being beaten by New Plymouth (Higgs) 22—18. The Feihling rink, skipped by Wonham, failed to win a match in the three rounds. The defeats in each round were: Stratford (T. Skoglund) 21—16 ; Stratford (S. Ewing), 20—18 ; Fitzroy (Murray), 24—13. O’Shea lias four wins and three losses and Wenham one win and six losses.
