At the wool sales 9326 bales 1 were offered, including 3261 from New Zealand, and approximately 7640 were sold. There was strong general competition. Fine Merinos and crossbreds are now 5 per cent, above the opening rates. New Zealand realisations: Scoured Merino, H. M. Oxford, top price 17d, average lG jd; greasy crossbred, Hunthill, top price, 9|d, average 7§d. PRICES IN SYDNEY.

SYDNEY, Jan. 26. The wool prices current at this week’s market were as follow:

Superior Merino fleece, best to 21Jd; greasy Merino fleece, best, lod to 17d; good, 13d to 14d; average, lid to 12d; light, seed or burry, skirts, good, llfi: to 12Jd; average, lOd to lid; inferior, 6jd to 9^d; lambs, best to 15d : fine comebacks to 13Jd. The Sydney brokers report that the average for the week's sales was £ll 14s 5(1 per bale or 9d per pound.
