COMMISSION’S REPORT. SITUATION m SAMOA. SIR THOMAS WILFORD’S STATEMENT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.— Copyright.) Received January 26, 11.50 a.m. GENEVA, Jan. 25. The League Council adopted the Mandates Commission’s report which hopes that Australia will not relax her efforts to bring the whole of New Guinea under control despite the difficulty of tlie country and the hostility of the inhabitants. The Commission also notes Sir Thomas Wilford’s statement that the political situation in Samoa lias improved and hopes that this will proceed sufficiently to enable the gradual abolition of the emergency measures.
