CENTRAL CLUB’S CARNIVAL. CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST. A very pleasant evening’s sport was afforded lovers of aquatics, last evening, when the Central Swimming Club conducted a carnival. A lengthy programme of high quality was presented, some close- and exciting finishes resulting, while the conduct of the fixture was excellent. One Manawatu championship was decided, the club having been allotted the intermediate girls’ 50 yards. Although the contest was restricted to four competitors, it was productive of a good finish, the promising young Feilding swimmer, Miss O. Sporle, annexing the title from Miss C.
