(From Our Own Correspondent.) .MILSON, Dec. 19. Exceptional interest was evinced by members in the first Yankee tournament held on tho tennis courts during tho w’eek-end, by tho Milson Tennis Club. Sixteen entries wero received, and with two courts available for play, five rounds were completed. Tho winner of tho ladies’ section proved to be Airs R. Brown, who showed consistent by good form and won each of the five sots in which sho competed, thereby gaining the maximum number of points. Mrs Emms was runnor-up with 26 points. In tho men’s section Messrs Dunn and Leslio each gained 26 points, Air F. Grigg being noxt with 25. Tho dotailed results aro as follow: —First round: Brown and

Ladies, Mrs Brown 30, Mrs Emms 26, Miss Fairburn 22, Miss Sheppard 21, Mrs Dunn 20, Mrs Barclay 20, Miss Tarr 17, and Mrs Grigg 16. In view of the interest shown, and the manner in which the tournament was received, the committee has decided to conduct one each month during the season. The chib’s ladder games continue to hold the attention of the members, and radical changes amongst the top members have taken place during the past week. Emms displaced Brown for the premier position, 9—6; Donaldson beat Taylor, 13—11, after a hard uphill fight, and followed up this success by beating Gilbort 9—5; Mrs Emms beat Mrs Brown 7 and Miss Spurdell beat Miss Jordon 10-8;.
