FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Dec. 14. Miss M. Barron, of Dunedin, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs D. R. Barron. Miss P. Booth, of the Auckland Training College, is spending the vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs E. R. Booth. . On Saturday a bowling rink from Levin visited Foxton in an endeavour to secure the B Grade Triangular trophy, but without success. The scores were:—Foxton (T. Eruera, J. Newth, W. Trueman, W. Howe skip) 27; Levin (W. Higson, H. Varnham, H. Denton, E. Hornck skip) 13. , The Plunket Society met on Monday, Mrs W. Trueman presiding. Tlio nurse s report showed 146 visits had been paid to homes and the office. Accounts amounting to £54 6s 6d were passed for payment. . . , The annual concert in connection witn the Convent School was held in the Town Hall on Monday evening and, despite counter attractions, thore was a good audience. The programme comprised instrumental, vocal and elocutionary items of a< varied and meritorious character, which indicated careful and patient training by the Sisters. At the conclusion of the concert, Rev. Father Brennan thanked the audience for their attendance and referred to the high merit of the performance.
