CHARGE OF THEFT.
THREE AIEN TO APPEAR, REAIAND UNTIL FRIDAY. Charged with the offence that on or about November 2, at Palmerston North, they did by night break and enter the shop of Henry Ricketts in Kangmke! Street and steal therefrom tobacco and toilet requisites of a total value of £4B 4s 9d, three Young men appeared before Mr J. L. Stout. S.AI.. in the Magistrate’s Court to-dav. the accused were Stanlev Retlaw Hamchan, a carpenter aged of Donmngton Street, Malcolm A'ictor cu , °P assistant, aged 24. of shamrock Street, and Jack Galliclrnn labourer aged 24, of Brvant Street. Senior-Detective Quirke asked that the vase be remanded until 10 a.m. on knday next, December 9. Mr J. Grant appeared for accused and asked that bail be granted. He also made application for the suppressl<*n of their names. Mr Quirke informed the Court that other charges were pending against accused, but he did not object to bni as Jong as it was fixed at a reasonable amount and that the accused reported to the police daily until finallv deal: with.
