NEW MEMBER FOR MOTUEKA.
DELAY IN TAKING SEAT. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AA'ELUNGTON, Dec. 6. The new member for Motueka, Air K. J. Holyoake, is unlikely to get an opportunity to make his first appearance in Parliament till the session is resumed in January. The election result, though beyond all doubt, is so far a preliminary, as the final figures cannot be returned until a recount. Alotueka is a scattered constituency. All the ballot papers have to be returned to the main polling booth for an official count and therefore it is not expected that the writ can be returned till after this week’s adjournment.
