ITALY’S TRADE
SUBSTANTIAL DECLINE. EFFECT OF OTTAWA AGREEMENTS. REQUEST FOR REPRISALS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received December 5, 8.40 a.m. ROME, Dec. 4. Signor Casalini, president of the National Exports Institute, in a speech in the General Assembly in the presence of Signor Mussolini, said that the Italian exports to the British Dominions were seriously affected by the Ottawa agreements, which had given the death blow to the most favoured nation clauses of the international commercial treaties. The exporters, therefore, felt that the Government should make reprisals. The total Itaban imports- and exports in 1932 were lower by 55 to 60 per cent, compared with 1929.
