MILSON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MILSON, Dec. 5. The Salvation Army Sunday school concert was held in the hall on Friday evening. A varied programme of musical and elocutionary items was presented by the pupils. There was a fair number present, and each item received a round of applause. Mr R. Fairburn. of ALlson's Line, has resumed duty with the Railway Department after an enjoyable vacation spent, in tile South Island. Mr A. Rankin, of Carlisle Street, is at present on annual leave. The tennis match arranged between the Milson and Tokomaru Clubs for the week-end had to be abandoned owing to the rain. The Milson team made the trip in the hope that the weather would improve. blit on arrival at Tokomaru they were greeted by a steady downpour. The local club has not had a match yet. although considerable interest has been shown by members in the ladder matches, and the positions on the ladder have been subject, to alteration almost daily. The following matches were played during last week:—Emms 40 defeated Donaldson 36; Leslie 40 defeated Grigg 34; Emms 40 defeated Gilbert 31; Mrs Barclay 30 defeated Miss A. Tarr 27; Mrs Emms 30 1 defeated Mrs Barclay 21; Potts (41) successfully defended bis position against C. Fairburn (39): and Gilbert (40) withstood a challenge by Donaldson (26).

Mrs K. A. Donaldson, who has been on a holiday tour of North Auckland, is now on her wav home, and is visiting friends in the Waikato district.
