MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., presided at this morning’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court when Michael Lynch was charged that, at Palmerston North, on December 2, he did molest his wife by watching or besetting her dwellinghouse while a separation order was in force. Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse stated that defendant had been warned against molesting his wife. Constable Grant gave evidence that 10 days ago he had . warned defendant to keep away from his wife, but last night he went to her residence. Mrs Lynch stated. that defendant had been following her about the street and had gone to her house. Defendant promised to keep away from his wife and offered to take out a prohibition order. The Magistrate told defendant that lie would give him a last chance: he would be convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon, a condition being that he takes out a prohibition order. Defendant was warned that he would be sent to gaol for three months if he offended Again.
