UNUSUAL CHARGE.

ENDANGERING OF BROTHER'S LIFE. Received December 3, 10.0 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 3. George Champion was committed for trial on a charge of having caused his brother Charles to take cvanid© so as to endanger his life. Giving evidence, Charley Champion said that during the evening at the pictures his brother bought two bottles of lemonade. Witness drank some. It tasted bitter and he mentioned the fact to liis brother, who drank the remainder of the contents of the bottle. Medical evidence was given that the quantity of cyanide consumed by Champion was verv small. Bail was fixed at £SO. Charles Champion went as surety for his brother's appearance.

The pair attended a city theatre. Charles told the police that his brother bought a bottle of lemonade during the interval and brought it into the theatre. Charles consumed about half the lemonade and then became ill. Detectives ascertained that the lemonade contained cyanide and arrested George Champion.
