ILLNESS OF SCHOOLGIRLS.
SEQUEL TO GIFT OF TOFFEE. Received October 13, 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 13. An unknown woman visited the Manly public. school and gave some girls a bag of toffee. After eating the sweetmeat twenty-five of the girls became ill, vomiting violently. Most of them recovered after the teachers had given them emetics, but some were still in pain late last night.
