Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 12. At the Baptist Union Assembly Rev. L. 13. Busfield reported for the fire insurance committee that the profit for the year had been £4B Os lOd, and the fund now stood at £ll2 19s 10d. The committee recommended the establishment of an insurance fund similar to that in existence in the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches, the system to provide for the immediate reinsuring of all risks with a reputable insurance company. Mr Busfield said that if the churches would link up with the union’s insurance scheme they would be putting monev into its special fund instead of into the pockets of private agents.
