COLLIERY DISASTER.
ATTEMPTS AT RESCUE. (British Official Wireless.) Received October 12, 9.53 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 10. Tho rescue parties at the Plank Lane colliery, near Leigh, Lancashire, where 19 miners were killed, descended by another shaft and extricated the men from the wrecked cage, but artificial respiration failed.
