REPORT ON MANCHURIA.
CHINESE DENUNCIATION. IMPOTENCE OF LEAGUE. SHANGHAI, Oct. 10. Severe denunciation of the Lytton Commission’s report on Manchuria js made by fifteen members of the Central Executive Council in a circular telegram addressed to the nation. The signatories include many leading figures in Chinese politics. The telegram announces that the commission’s suggestions for the demilitarisation of Manchuria, the establishment of a special autonomous regime, the summoning of a proposed advisory conference and the recognition of Japan’s right and interests in Manchuria are imcompatible with China’s sovereignty and territorial and administrative integrity. . “It will be suicidal for China to place further reliance on. the League of Nations, which has fully exposed its impotence to uphold justice,” the message adds. “The only effective means of saving the present situation is armed resistance, while public opinion calls for a military expedition to recover the lost IVlanchurian territory.”
