REMANDED ON BAIL.
CHARGES OF THEFT. MEMBERS OF HIGH COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE. Received October 12, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 11. Ernest Toms, aged 44, finance officer, and Arnold Hore, auditor, of the New Zealand High Commissioner’s office, were remanded on bail at Bow Street when they were charged with stealing £3O on September 8 and £54 on September 14, belonging to the Government.
Counsel, in applying for bail, said that Toms had been for 20 years in the Government’s 1 employ. Despite being suspended, he had given all the information possible.
