THEFTS IN CHRISTCHURCH
CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 11. The intruder, who entered the premises of Mason, Struthers and Co. on Monday evening, got througn a window but found himself trapped in the lift ’well. He then climbed up tho greasy ropes on to the floor above, unscrewed the locks on the side door to admit an accomplice, packed two new suitcases with goods and decamped. About £3O worth of tobacco was stolen from the store of O. M. Smith, Madras Street, and £lO worth of tobacco from a shop owned by alia it. A. Phillips. Wilson’s Road.
