LATEST STATISTICS. Received October 12, 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 11. The number of insured persons in employment on September 26, the date •of the latest Ministry of Labour report, was approximately 9,232,000. The figure, however, had been substantially reduced owing to the trade dispute in the manufacturing ’section of the cotton industry; otnerwise there would have been an increase of about 37,000 in the number of persons in work, compared with one month ago, and about 31,000 one year ago. The total number of unemployed on the registers on September 26 was 2,119,218 wholly unemployed, 639,160 temporarily stopped, and 99,633 normally in casual employment, a total which is 1817 less than the number on the registers in August, comprising 2,303,182 men, 79,644 boys, 420,G0* women and 55,151 girls.
