• ADMIRAL SIR. H. BRAND RETIRES. SOME NOTABLE CHANGES. Received October 12, 12.55 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 11. Admiral Sir Hubert Brand has retired at his own request to facilitate the promotions resulting in various flag appointments, incluuing that of Vice-Admiral Hall-Thompson, who is promoted to Admiral. it is the biggest post-war list of retirements. Fourteen captains have been promoted, of whom twelve are being retired, including several famous war-time figures.
