PREPARATIONS FOR RESUMPTION OF WORK.

The signature of the cotton peace agreement was authorised to-day by the Central Committee of the Cotton Spinners and Manufacturers’ Association. Preparations have already been made for a general resumption of work in tho mills to-morrow.
Sir Amos Nelson, a prominent figure in the textile trade, expressed the view that the industry’s opportunities are at present brighter than they have been for a long time past. A marked improvement, he added, was shown in tho general inquiries from abroad for Lancashire cotton and artificial silk goods.
