TENNIS.
TAKARO CLUB’S MEETING. There was a good attendance of members at tlie annual meeting of the tennis section of the Takaro Bowling, Croquet and Tennis Club on Monday night. The annual report (previously published) was read and adopted. Misses Clark and Rosanoski and Mr Marquis were elected new members. The resignations of Messrs W. Duckworth and D. Hoare and Miss Brownliill were accepted with regret. It was decided that A and B grade matches be played as previously and that the club was not in favour of the mixed doubles being eliminated from the association’s A grade competition. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Chairman, Mr F. G. Scott; secretary, Mr J. Christie; delegate to Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association, Mr T. Bird; club captain, Mr D. Spring; management committee, the chairman and the secretary, and Messrs D. Spring, T. Bird, D. McMurray, G. Dawick, A. Ronberg and Misses"Bovis, King, and Marshall and Mrs Heald; delegates to executive, Messrs Dawick and McMurray and Mrs Heald.
It was decided that the club captain automatically become the captain of the team in which he plays, the captain of the other team to be elected by the members of that team. Votes of appreciation were accorded Messrs Dawick and Scott for their services to the club.
