SURPLUS FARM PRODUCTS.
PLANS FOR EXPORT. WASHINGTON, Sept. 25. Representatives of the Federal Farm Board and the Reconstruction Finance Corporation held a conference with President Hoover and the Secretary of Agriculture, Mr A. M. Hyde, at the White House to-day, and discussed plans for the export of surplus farm products. The first project under consideration was a bid by China for 15,000,000 bushels of wheat on credit, the fulfilment of which would require the purchase of some wheat by the board, as its stocks are insufficient. The board is therefore requesting the corporation’s assistance financially. If this is given, it is believed it would force the domestic prices of wheat up sharply, possibly as much as ten cents a bushel.
