AGAINST A STRIKE.
FEELING IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, Sept. 15. About 500 union officials and shop delegates in tho City Town Hall tonight discussed the question of precipitation an Australian-wide strike, but no such decision was reached. The result is believed to be due to the adverse feeling in the coalfields and the lack of unanimity in other States. The meeting, which excluded the Press, passed a resolution recommending the Australian Council of Trade Unions Conference, which will meet in Melbourne shortly, to set up a strike committee which would also be charged with the duty of consolidating the trade union movement, combating wage reductions and lowering working standards.
