RUGBY FOOTBALL

WELLINGTON v. MANAWHENUA

Manawlienua will contest tlieir sixth representative engagement for the present season at the Showgrounds tomorrow, when Wellington will furnish tho opposition. It will be the final appearance of the home combination for the 1932 season and, although tiro record of the combined union against Wellington is far from a flattering one, it is the hope of local enthusiasts that Manawlienua will prove capable of squaring tlieir sciuson’s account by adding another victory at the expense of Wellington. Although the team to do duty for Wellington does not include Pollock, Ball and Barry, tho trio being unavailable, the visitors are particularly strong and a good struggle for supremacy should eventuate. Against Wairarapa, the Manawhcmia forwards were a superb force—equal to any pack in the Dominion in all probability—but the rearguard will have to display more ruggedness in their tackling to curb the speedy visitors. After the light rain the ground should be in splendid order and a large crowd is expected to-morrow. Wellington's elect are: —Full-back, Masters; three-quarters, Hislop, Page and Macdonald; five-eighths, Robins and Johnson; half. Kilby, captain; forwards, Lamason. Peck, Mclx?an, Reid, Jolly, Dieclerich, Lambourne and Kenny. Emergency, Stiver.

The big game has been set down for 2.30 o’clock and tho curtain-raiser between the High School and Old Boys B junior combinations will l>e presented at 1.15. There will also be the other regular matches in tho junior competition in progress. RECORD OF MATCHES.
