GOVERNOR-GENERAL PRAISED
“AA'e should send a letter to the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe. expressing our great appreciation of the tine stand he has taken for God and righteousness,” said Rev. G. AA . T. Hercus at a meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery. “He is one of the best and wisest Governors New Zealand has ever had. Sometimes he must feel that his is a voice crying in the wilderness, and it would be a good thing if we let him know of our appreciation. He has wise statesmanship, and a wonderful Christian influence and example.” Air A. J. AlcEldowney said that His Excellency did not confine his sentiments to'spiritual circles, but voiced his fine ideals when speaking to people who were somewhat apathetic. Rev. T. Patterson said the GovernorGeneral was a man without equal, the best Governor the Dominion had ever had. .. . , , Air Hercus s suggestion was adopted unanimously.
