CARNARVON.
There was a largo and representative gathering at a welcome home in the Carnarvon Hall to Mr and Mrs J. Scott. Euchre was played in the early part,of the evening, the ladies’ first prizo fjomg to Miss A. Newport aftor a tio with Miss \V Clare, while the men’s prize was won by Mr Dixon. 'The consolation awards were secured by Miss T. Harris and Master Bert Maxwell. In an interesting competition, Miss L. Fiavell and Mr J. V. Wallis were successful, wlnlo Miss uibbons and Master Don Gordon were the prize-winners in another competition. A lucky spot foxtrot was won by Mr R. Florenco and Miss A. Florence. At a suitable juncturo Mr G. U. McKenzie presented to Mr and Mrs Scott, on behalf of the residents of the district, an eightday striking clock, a silver teapot and an oak dinner wagon, and in doing so expressed every good wish to the recipients in their future married life. f lhe couplo were accorded musical honours. Mr Scott expressed thanks for the handsome presents and good wishes. After supper tho hall was cleared for dancing, music boing supplied by an orchestra. Tho promoters wish to thank Mrs F. .T, Thomson for kindly allowing tho use of her piano for tho evening.
