HEAVY RAIN IN AUSTRALIA. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received September 16. 2.20 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 16. Heavy rain in tho north-west lias soaked the wheat districts. While the farmers rejoico at tho prospects of the crops doing well, tho residents of the towns in .some cases arc anxious owing to the rapid rise in the rivers. Deniliquin reported that the Edward River has risen 21 feet this morning, but the town is believed to he safe. A moderate easterly gale, a rarity, is blowing at Sydney Heads. Coastal shipping is seeking shelter.
