WELLINGTON v. AIANAWHENUA,

ALL BLACKS IN ACTION.

In preparation for their engagement with Alauawhenua at the Showgrounds 011 Saturday, the following players have been ordered to go into training by the Wellington selector, Air J. N. Alillard, and the team will bo selected therefrom:

Backs: Cresswell, Pollock, Macdonald. Robins. Hislop, X. Ball, Page, Johnson, Kilby. Forwards: Diederich, Lambourn, McLean. Reid. Martin, Peck. Lamason. Kenny, Wilson and Stiver. Tindill and Killeen are on the injured list and neither is available. Of the 19 players selected, five of the backs, Pollock. Ball, Page. Johnson and Kilby, are All Blacks, four of the quintette having toured Australia this season, while McLean was a member of the 1932 All Black forwards who made a name for themselves in Australia. It is thus apparent that Mnnawhenua are to be put to a severe test, but local enthusiasts are confident that the home representatives will rise to the occasion and extend to the fullest the visitors. The Wellington team will arrive by the Napier express on Saturday morning, returning home the same evening. The match has been set down for 2.30 o'clock, being precided bv the High School-Old Boys B junior fixture at 1.15 p.m. Mr A. Gordon will referee the big game.
