SPORTS FOR CHILDREN.
At a special meeting of the Citizens’ Show Committee, held last evening, it was decided to suggest to the Manawatu A. and P. Association that a primary school athletic sports championship be held on the Saturday afternoon of the Royal Show', November 5, the championship to be for a challenge shield to be competed for annualy betw'een all the primary schools in the district. It w'as also decided to write to the Headmasters’ Association and the Combined School Committees’ Association to invite their co-operation in the effort to make the carnival a success.
It was unanimously considered that, with the full co-operation of all parties interested, the day would be made a gala day full of interest and pleasure to city and country children, parents and the general public.
