ARBITRATION COURT.

AWARDS RATIFIED

Per Press Association. , WELLINGTON, Sept. 14. Applications for the ratification of industrial agreements and the recommendations of the Conciliation Councils, including applications for exemptions from certain awards, were heard by the Arbitration Court to day. The question of the exemption of several firms from the electrical workers’ award was considered and the hearing adjourned till to-morrow. The Court ratified the recommendation of the Conciliation Council in respect to the Wellington tailoresses’ award and it operates from tho 26th inst. The tailors’ award was also ratified and it operates 1 from tho same date.

The Wanganui and Rangitikei Power Boards’ application for exemption from the electrical workers’ award was adjourned for hearing at Wanganui on October 7.

The Court will sit at New Plymouth on October 10 and at Napier on October 15.
