Kumeroa. In a basketball match with Pahiatua on Wednesday, played at W'oodviile, Pahiatua A defeated W'oodviile A, bv 11 to 3. W'oodviile B won in their game against Pahiatua B, the score being 12—7. Goals for W'oodviile A. were scored by J. Lovell, P. Ilanarav and J. Morgan, while E. Bassett, G. Bryson, and A. Bonny gained points for W'oodviile in the B game. The Fire Brigade Rugby football team journeyed to Pahiatua on W ednesday to play the return game with the Pahiatua Brigade, and after a clean. hard-fought game, emerged victorious. Tries were secured for W’oodviile by M. Gillespie (2), B. Hayes, and R.. Ruddick. one of these being converted by M. Gillespie. For Pahiatua, J. Mills scored and converted a try, L.
