AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
MARATHON RECOMMENDED,
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug.. 27 A decision that a recommendation be made to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association that a Marathon be staged yearly at a time and place as arranged later was reached at a conference of harriers’ delegates held in Christchurch last night. A further motion was carried recommending that the Wellington Centro lie asked to arrange the first Marathon and to pay all expenses for it and take all revenue from it. Tho council will provide the championship medals. By a majority vote it was decided that the Marathon he run between October 1 and tho second week in November each year.
