PAHIATCA, Aug. 26. Miss Doris Wilson, of Wellington. is paying a short visit to Mrs Armistead, Hopeiands. Mr and Mrs J. Turner, who were visitors to Palmerston North tills week, have returned to Pori. 3Lr H. B. Davies, i of Waipukurau, is acting as relieving man- . agor at the Union Bank during the abser.ee. on annual leave, of Mr C. C, . Smythe. Mrs D. Wrathall, of Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs W. H. Murch. Mrs C. M. Davidson, of Ormondville, is also on a visit to Mrs Murch. In tho qualifying round in the open championship at the Hastings ladies' golf i tournament, Miss F. Badger came fifth with a score of 93 among the beet eight players. She defeated Miss Dalgleish, of Waiohiki. in the first round of the championship by 3 and 2, returning a score of SO. In the semi-final she was beaten by Miss D, Thompson, who is champion of the Hastings club, by 6 and 4. In the Hasting* tournament Miss Badger has won two trophies—the senior medal with 93—17—T0, uni the senior bogey, 3 down. As this is her first tournament Miss Badger has done great credit to herseli and also the Fahiauia Club.
