(From Our Own Correspondent.) l-'OXTON, Aug. 25. Mrs C. T. Mudden is ut present visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs K. iluydock. Xitrsu I’renclcigu-.t, of Fox ton, who- recently underwent an operation in the l’almcraton North Hospital, has been discharged from that institution and is spending a holiday. There is no change reported in the condition of Mr J. Andrew, who is seriously ill in the Palmerston North Hospital. Mr and Mrs H. Adams left yesterday for Wellington and Mr and Mrs 'J'. 13. Yardlcy and Mr J,. C. A. Nelson for Palmerston North. Mr W. Hobson, of Palmerston North, arrived in Foxton to-day to take over charge of the railway station from Mr J. Martin. Mr and Mrs Martin leave to-morrow for Taihapc. A committee meeting of tho Foxton United Sports Association was held on Tuesday evening, presided over by Mr W. T. Jewell. Details in connection with the next sports meeting were discussed and the secretary was instructed to write to tho Racing Club asking permission to use the course on Labour Day and also to make the necessary arrangements with the caretaker. It was decided to donate a cup for tho North Island middleweight championship event, which will he included in the association’s programme. A programme was drawn up and submitted for approval.
