FAMOUS PICTURE SLASHED
A report from Paris says that Millet's famous “Angelus,” in the Louvre, was slashed by a knife, and narrowly escaped complete ruin. Paul Guyard, a visitor, suddenly drew' a knife, and struck the. picture, hut an attendant overpowered him. Ho was taken to the police station. Guyard is apparently suffering from persecution mania. ITe has been out of work for 12 months. 'l’he “Angelas” has five stabs, and is slightly torn in places, but can he restored.
