THE UNEMPLOYED
REGISTRATION FIGURES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 23. An increase of 57 in the number of registered unemployed throughout New Zealand is recorded in the figures for the week end July 25. which were released by the acting-Miflister of Employment to-day. The total number on the books of the labour bureau was 55,203, as compared with 55,146 for the preceding seven days. Of the total number of registered unemployed, 43,631 were engaged under the No. 5 relief scheme, which left 11,572 unplaced or standing down.
