SPICED FRUIT PIES.

Two eggs, two slices of bread, Jib flour, 3ozs. ground sweet almonds, 1J oz. raisins, ljoz sultanas, 3oz currants, nutmeg and ground cinnamon, Jib sugar, lat for frying. Mix together the almonds, sugar, fruit and spice with one of the eggs. Soak the bread till soft, squeeze out the moisture and form into a dough with the flour and the second egg. Roll out on a floured board and cut into ovals. Put some of tjie fruit mixture on half of them and cover with the other half. Press slightly at edges, sprinkle with flour and fry in hot fat. Serve with sugar syrup.
