FRIENDLY SOCIETIES

ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER, U.A.O.D. The annual meeting of Royal Arch Chapter No. 10 was held in tho Oddfellows’ Hall on Tuesday night, R.A.D. Bro. H. J. Kjar presiding over a largo attendance despite the wintry conditions prevailing. Bro. A. Stewart received the Past Arch degree. The resignation of the secretary was accepted with regret, P.A. Bro. E. W. Drake being accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services during the past two years. The election of officers for the current year resulted as follows : —P.P.. Bro. H. J. Kjar; R.A.D., Bro. E. H. Uro; R.V.A.D.. Sister Osman; Treas., Bro. G. Hansen; Secretary, Sis. A. Oppatt; R.G.. Bro. R. Andrew; R. Bro. E. Titcombe and Bro. H. Hughes; R.V.B.’s, Sister Titcombe and Bro. A. Stewart. The installation of officors will take place at the next meeting, when P.D.P. Bro. H. S. Abel, of AVellington, will act as installing officer. The following were nominated to act as judges for the nnnual ritual contest in No. 2 district, which will take place at Otaki next month: P.D.P. Bro E. Titcombe, P.A., Bro. E. W. Drake and J.P.A. Bro. V. Christensen. The balance-sheet for the year, which was received and adopted, showed that the funds were in an excellent state For his services as auditor P.S. Bro. J. Mewett received a hearty vote of thanks, after which tho meeti-i" terminated and nil were entertained at supper by the Oroua ladies’ committee.
