LATE MRS MASSEY.
FUNERAL THIS MORNING

WELLINGTON, April 21. The funeral of the late Mrs Massey took place this morning and was very largely attended. The weather was beautifully fine. All the members of the Cabinet were present and both Houses of the legislature were well represented as well as the judiciary and the women’s social service organisations of which tho late Mrs Massey was a member. The service was at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, the first portion being taken by the minister, Rev. R. J. Howie, and Canon James, of St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, delivered an address in which he referred to the fine character of tire late Mrs Massey and the work she had accomplished. A large number of wreaths were received from all parts of the Dominion. The interment took place at Mr Massey’s tomb at Point Halswell, a brief committal service being conducted by Rev. Mr Howie.
